Qatar Charity delivers modern medical devices to Sudan’s hospitals

Qatar Charity (QC) delivered modern medical devices and supplies for blood tests to the Othman Digna Hospital in Port Sudan, while ultrasound machines, medical consumables, and nearly 11 tons of IV fluids were provided to other hospitals in Sudan.

This assistance comes as part of Qatar Charity's continuous humanitarian efforts to support Sudan’s health sector and provide medical supplies to its hospitals. Medicines, 10,000 blood bags, 5 ABG devices, an ultrasound machine, and many medical consumables were provided during the past days.

The Federal Minister of Health Dr. Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, who participated in the distribution of medical devices, praised Qatar’s supportive efforts in Sudan’s various fields, especially in the health sector. He indicated that these medical devices and supplies are a real addition to the health sector.

He said that people thank the government, people, and institutions of Qatar for firmly supporting the health sector, particularly during this crisis, in addition to their previous support in implementing many projects during disasters.

For her part, Safaa Abdel Majeed, Director of the General Department of Laboratories, said that Qatar Charity provided blood bags that were about to be unavailable in Sudan if significant quantities were not received from Qatar Charity. She noted that this helped them in a critical time, especially amidst the suffering of many from hemorrhagic fevers, in addition to the need for blood donations in hospitals, which requires the availability of blood bags.

Mr. Omer Abdelaziz, director of Qatar Charity’s office in Sudan, affirmed the organization’s keenness and interest in the rapid response to the humanitarian duty, praising the cooperation of the Ministry of Health to facilitate the work of Qatar Charity in this field. He noted the arrangements currently underway to receive 65 tons of medicines and medical supplies to address the humanitarian situation, especially in the circumstances of war that the country is going through.
